Profile

Description

This Actuarial Analyst 2 role on the Specialty Benefits team will take ownership of our Dental and Vision commercial group (100 lives) renewal reporting and the dental trend analysis. This is an exciting opportunity to further develop these processes in meaningful and creative ways such as building out forecasting features to better predict persistency and trends in the future and improve strategic decisions. This role is very technical in nature as it will involve pulling, analyzing, and understanding claims data down to the procedure level to isolate key trend drivers, but will also have many opportunities to collaborate with key stakeholders including the finance, underwriting, and clinical teams. The Actuarial Analyst 2, Analytics/Forecasting work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

The Actuarial Analyst 2, Analytics/Forecasting ensures data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business needs/issues, troubleshoots problems, conducts root cause analysis, and develops cost effective resolutions for data anomalies. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

This role will be under the Employer Group Actuarial department, specifically working on the commercial group dental and vision blocks of our specialty business. This role will be responsible for the Large Group (100 lives) renewal reporting, explaining changes in persistency and renewal rates over time.
