Models at Globe Actuarial are used to support growth, enhance profitability, and manage risks. Working side-by-side with actuaries throughout Globe, the Models Team leads an integrated approach to model development, implementation and maintenance to create and ensure a consistent approach to actuarial models and develops new ways to utilize models.

The Actuarial Assistant will have a broad range of responsibilities including using PolySystems actuarial software, streamlining processes, enhancing model effectiveness, finding optimal model solutions, guiding the move to PBR and Long Duration Targeted Improvement environments and providing insight to management on model results.

Primary Duties:

Assist with conversion of legacy models to PolySystems platform

Assist with the integration of models into integrated single set-up by business unit

Develop new and update existing models to be used for valuation, pricing and projections

Review model validations and develop approaches to improve validation results

Develop and update total model framework

Manage business unit projections used for business management and other strategic purposes

Provide insight into projection results to actuarial and business unit management

Required Skills

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

PolySystems experience a plus but will provide training

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally within the Department

Ability to work well in a team-based environment

Extreme accuracy in all work

Strong quantitative skills

Familiarity with insurance company financial Statements

Familiarity with model governance practices

Track record of success on actuarial exams

Physical Requirements:

Office work only; Work at desk using a computer and calculator; Attend meetings as required; Office facilities are disability compliant

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or related field required

Working knowledge of SQL and Excel

Experience in a life or health actuarial function; valuation, pricing, product development, experience analysis, rating or product management

Understanding of the actuarial control cycle
