Retail Markets (GRM) Actuarial, U.S. Personal Lines Reserving is seeking a Senior

Actuarial Analyst/Assistant Actuary responsible for supporting Auto Liability

reserving.  This position is responsible for supporting the Personal Auto

Liability Reserving Actuary in the evaluation of nearly $6B of direct reserves

with a focus on protecting the GRM U.S. Personal Lines balance

sheet via early and effective recognition and communication of key trends

and risks.  Other responsibilities include the implementation of process

improvement initiatives to support reserving unit goals and cross-functional

needs.  As such, the successful candidate will possess strong analytical

and communication skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to execute

thoroughly in a collaborative environment.  The position location is in Seattle

with remote reporting considered.  Responsibilities:Develop reserve

opinions and adequacy assessments for GRM U.S. Personal Lines segments, having

in depth knowledge of the balance sheetCommunicate

results to Senior ManagementPartner

with Claims to understand operational changes and impacts on reserve patterns

and adequacySupport

financial planning process by providing key actuarial inputsQuickly

recognize, and effectively communicate to key stakeholders, the trends that

affect reserve developmentMonitor

and analyze GRM U.S. Personal Lines and industry trends to ensure reserve

estimates incorporate the impact of ongoing changes in the legal and

operational environmentHelp to

support external parties, such as auditors, to add transparency to our process,

controls and resultsChampion continuous

improvement efforts within GRM Actuarial Reserving, as well as across SBUs

or Assistant Actuary. Qualifications (Senior Actuarial Analyst):Minimum

2–4 years relevant experience requiredPassing

grades on a minimum of 5 Casualty Actuarial Exams is requiredCommitment

to achieving Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)Bachelor's

degree requiredPrior

experience and solid knowledge of actuarial techniques and standards, as well

as other business operations including financial, underwriting, legal,

statistics, claims, sales, etc.Solid

oral and written and presentation communication skills and ability to interact

effectively within and outside the organizationSolid

interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment as well as

independentlyAbility

to motivate and mentor peers and motivate and train subordinatesAbility

to exercise discretion, and apply independent judgment and well-developed

critical thinking skills in execution of assignments and projectsAbility

to balance multiple projects with minimal directionStrong MS

Office Excel and SAS skills preferred; ability to build models of moderate

complexity Qualifications (Assistant Actuary):Minimum
