Role Value Proposition: \u00a0 As part of Corporate Risk Management, the Senior Associate Actuary will be responsible for supporting the Director within the Model Validation Team with performing model validation and writing validation reports. The Actuary will report to the Actuarial Model Validation Director. Key Responsibilities: Perform independent validation of MetLife\u2019s models to effectively challenge the models. Evaluate appropriateness of assumptions, data sources, and reliability of inputs. Test model output through building of challenger models, back testing, sensitivity analysis, or stress testing as applicable. Assist in writing and reviewing validation reports illustrating the relevant results of theoretical review and testing, calling attention to areas of concern, and\/or uncertainty. Monitor findings, recommendations and management action plans resulting from validation reports, ensuring actions taken appropriately address concerns. Review and challenge annual model risk assessments. Prepare metrics reporting as necessary. Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: Required: Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, finance, investment and securities and investment management. 5 years\u2019 experience working in the financial services\/insurance industry. ASA\/FSA, FSA preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred: Knowledge of insurance products and investments including derivatives. Knowledge of risk management. Ability to work on multiple projects. Good interpersonal skills. Strong analytical skills of complex models and products.
