Description
The Associate Actuary, Medicaid Trend will lead the Inpatient Early Indicator Report process for all Medicaid markets in order to analyze emerging experience, identify opportunities for trend-bending initiatives, and guide market strategic decisions. Manages one analyst to build reporting tools and models and to provide insight on trends across various markets. Leads a monthly call with key stakeholders to report data findings and facilitate discussion of market opportunities.
Responsibilities
Analyzes and forecasts utilization and financial data to provide accurate and timely information to Medicaid market leaders to make strategic and operational decisions. Establishes metrics, provides data analyses, and evaluates market trends to forecast the organization's financial and competitive position. Collaborates with key stakeholders to understand business needs/issues. Ensures data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation, or FSA designation
Meets eligibility requirements for Humana's Actuarial Professional Development Program (APDP)
MAAA
Must have the ability to communicate across business areas and collaborate within the Actuarial space
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Three or more years of healthcare experience
Leadership skills
Experience with the Medicaid line of business is a plus
