Job Description Summary
Manages one or more actuarial functions for a product line or corporate process. May evaluate new product ideas, and pricing and maintenance of existing products. May direct the design, pricing, and implementation of insurance products.
Enhances models and / or modeling processes for new features or new functionality
Remediates known errors and simplifications in the models and / or modeling processes as requested
Responds to ad-hoc requests
Demonstrates ability to execute on assigned deliverables.
Works well within teams or as an individual
Develops or maintains tools to improve the efficiency of using the software platforms
Supports Model Development Life Cycle, including areas such as writing specifications, unit and system testing, documentation, etc.
Adheres to Model Development Principles
Works with customer base to specify input and reporting needs
Trains customers on use of software
May lead small to medium-size projects
May develop or train staff
Develop working knowledge of multiple platforms
Develop actuarial knowledge of multiple products such as UL, VA, various assets, etc.
May manage projects and staff for assigned projects. Defines the project / resource plan.
FSA or pursuing Fellowship or Associateship.
In lieu of designation, may accept equivalent professional designation. Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field. In lieu of Bachelor's, may accept Master's in a listed discipline.
