Role Value Proposition:
This position provides broad-based, strategic input and project management for the US Pensions business. Key strategic initiatives include aligning US Pensions product re-engineering and resource redeployment to be consistent with MetLife’s new strategic paradigm of accelerating value. This position has significant senior management exposure, during the governance and approval process for larger PRT cases or for PRT cases with new product features (eg. buy-ins or deferreds).
Proactively research institutional retirement markets, understand competitive set, identify new opportunities, and report findings to PRT business leaders.
Perform analytics and financial modelling related to strategic initiatives for pensions business eg new product features such as buy-ins or deferreds.
Act as liaison to internal and external business partners related to PRT and broader RIS strategic initiatives. Prepare presentations regarding PRT strategic initiatives for senior leaders and executive board.
Provide project management for the roll-out of key initiatives and report status to US Pensions business leaders.
Act as the US Pensions liaison with other organizations within MetLife that impact strategic initiatives such as Corporate Strategy, Finance, Legal and Marketing.
Develop pricing sensitivities and ad-hoc scenario analyses required for governance and approval of large or unusual PRT cases, including preparation of presentations for senior leaders and executive group.
Provide support for ad hoc strategic projects that promote growth within the US Pensions business.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, economics, or related discipline.
FSA, ASA or CFA with 7 years of insurance industry experience with comprehensive business knowledge
Strong analytical, financial modeling and problem-solving skills
Strong presentation and written communication skill
Ability to operate effectively in a highly-matrixed environment.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in written form across all levels of the company.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Tact and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
Strong knowledge in Retirement products.
Thorough understanding of annuity products and strong quantitative and financial skills.
Experience in life and annuity reinsurance.
