Strategic thought leader in expansion of products, pricing, and overall business development
Establishes and cultivates a strong relationship with the Business and
Executive leaders within NV, provides comprehensive advice on financial goals
Frequently interacts with senior leaders to influence those leaders to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches
Entrepreneurial approach to developing innovative solutions to meet customer/business needs
Lead actuarial efforts that affect new and existing business
Provide direction for the development of competitive analysis and determine the impact on premiums and various product proposals
Mentor and develop your elite team of actuaries
Oversee the development of actuarial pricing models
Provide design and oversight of complex actuarial projects
Develop pricing methodologies and assumptions
Perform forecast and trend analysis
Oversight/Development of monthly reserves
Develop and implement new products
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage internal/external relationships
This position will report directly to the NV Market CFO with responsibilities for developing and executing strategies relating to pricing, product, IBNR and process decisions, and will lead/develop a highly skilled staff.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
ASA or FSA designation, plus M.A.A.A. designation
8 years of Actuarial experience
Extensive knowledge of concepts and methodologies in health care
5 years of management experience
Heavy experience with commercial products â€“ large group, small group and individual on/off exchange
Experience with capitated models
