The Assistant Actuary is a member of the Group Benefits and A&H Valuation Team. He or she plays a significant role in the valuation and financial reporting for the A&H business.
The A&H Valuation Team is responsible for the calculation of reserves on a GAAP, Statutory, and Tax basis. It is also responsible for the analysis and financial reporting of those reserves, as well as ad hoc projects and/or requests.
The Assistant Actuary will work with other actuaries, accountants, and compliance personnel throughout the company, as well as external and internal auditors.

Controls and documentation
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a strong focus on attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Must be able to manage a small staff, manage multiple priorities, and adjust to a dynamic environment. Preference will be given to candidates with background in valuation and financial reporting, managing actuarial students, financial controls and/or A&H products.
3 years of actuarial experience
Solid computer skills such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access are a must
Technical skills such as ArcVal/CASE, AXIS, SAS are a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments
