Full-time position, working with actuarial consultants in preparing actuarial valuations of pension and retiree health plan liabilities for multiemployer, corporate, and public pension plans, performing analysis of gains and losses, and plan design studies. Position may also include analyzing and projecting health care claims, pricing health and welfare plan benefit options, analyzing healthcare provider proposals and renewals, drafting employee communications, and communicating results to clients. Primary Responsibilities:Process and organize data for actuarial valuation of pension and retiree health plansAssist with setup and programming of actuarial valuationsUpdate / develop new and existing Excel workbooksAssist with electronic file management and documentationAssist with government filing preparationPrepare benefit calculationsDraft plan amendments and member communicationsDraft Summary Plan Descriptions and plan documentsPrepare budget projectionsCalculate employer/employee contribution rates, retiree rates, COBRA rates, imputed income rates, and IBNR estimatesPrepare cost estimates for various benefit optionsAnalyze vendor renewalsReview vendor contractsPrepare ad hoc reporting as neededRequired skills:Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Excel and WordStrong organizational skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAttention to detailQualifications:Bachelors in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related fieldUp to three years of experienceExperience with Proval valuation software is preferredCompletion of one or more Society of Actuaries exams is a plusGPA 3.5 Additional information:Competitive salary and benefitsBonus opportunitiesActuarial exam program Include your GPA, cover letter, and resume with your applicationMilliman, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
