In this management role, the valuation actuary will be responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual production of statutory, GAAP, and tax reserves for the Houston Interest-Sensitive Life Insurance business. The actuary will also be responsible for the production of SOX controls, quarterly deliverables to external auditors, and other analytical tools that serve to explain the reported financial results.
This role supports the Life Chief Finance Actuary, the Life Chief Financial Officer, the Legacy business unit, as well as the reinsurance department.
There will be four on-site staff actuaries to directly manage as well as one indirect remote staff actuary in India.
* 7 years of progressively more responsible actuarial experience and preferably 2 years of life valuation experience.
* BS degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or other quantitative field
* Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently and within a team
* Detail oriented
