The Actuarial Associate prepares documentation, analyzes data, assists in the implementation and pricing of new products and supports the quarterly and annual valuation processes. This individual works under direct supervision.
The incumbent is responsible for assigned portions of multi-million/billion dollar projects including calculation of reserves, cash flow testing, and product pricing, all involving numerous complex models. At this level there is peer review, but manager reviews results in aggregate rather than by individual models.
This person is expected to use judgment to determine the reasonableness of variances and will independently research discrepancies.
This position requires the calculation of premiums, reserves and non-forfeiture values of new and existing plans of insurance; performs actuarial research, experience studies, and statistical analyses and calculations; assists in preparing the actuarial portions of the financial statements and the federal income tax returns; and compiles, evaluates and certifies statistical data.
The applicant must have a Bachelor's Degree plus completion of at least three actuarial exams and a minimum of 2 years' experience.
