Actuarial Associate ( Valuation Center of Excellence, Individual Life)','ILI00015','!*!The Valuation Center of Excellence (COE) for the Individual Life business is seeking an Actuarial Associate to support Statutory, FAS 60 GAAP, and Tax financial reporting and analysis.  The Individual Life Valuation area performs financial reporting and analysis for all individual life insurance business of Prudential, including the acquired Hartford Life block and Prudential's Closed Block.  We are looking for someone with leadership potential who can help improve existing processes as well as influence and incorporate process changes, especially as we continue efforts to align Legacy Hartford and Pru Valuation and reporting processes and begin to align reporting processes across the Valuation COE.  The candidate should have strong analytical and communication skills in order to evaluate, understand and communicate drivers of financial impact.

This position will provide the candidate with opportunities to collaborate with a wide array of functions, including finance, Valuation, Modeling, Reinsurance and Corporate Actuarial.  Upcoming projects include FASB Targeted Improvements, Principle Based Reserves (PBR), valuation of new products and the creation of insightful analytics.

Responsibilities:

Perform analysis of Statutory, GAAP and Tax financial results

Support regulatory changes and assumption updates

Develop management exhibits and insightful analytics

Research any issues related to reported results or calculation procedures

Maintain appropriate controls; address any control weaknesses; ensure compliance with corporate standards

Maintain and continue to improve procedures and tools, partnering with the Actuarial Modeling COE and other areas as appropriate

Support the integration of Legacy Hartford and Prudential processes

Support Targeted Improvements and PBR

Support internal and external audits

College Degree (BA/BS) required

0-1 years of actuarial experience

Actuarial internship a plus.  Would also consider analyst or related experience.

Strong technical skills

Ability to grasp complex subject matter, provide insightful analysis and develop innovative solutions

Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines

Proven ability to work with broad teams to accomplish goals

Strong oral and written communication skills

Experience with Individual Life products or with Valuation and Financial Reporting is preferred

Experience with PolySystems or other vendors' actuarial software a plus

Programming experience a plus
