Title: Associate, Health & Productivity
SummaryWork in connection with actuarial assignments such as valuations, claims cost or reserve projections, renewal negotiations or other analysis, including preparation and communication of results, under close supervision of the Consultant and/or Sr. Consultant, Health & Productivity Actuary.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Prepares letters on data and other simple matters.
•Performs data collection, editing and formatting.
•Updates valuation programs and other spreadsheets
•Assists in the setting of actuarial assumptions, including the underwriting of health plan costs, for valuation, budget, renewal, COBRA and other purposes.
•Has telephone contact with clients/vendors on matters of data, benefit and other simple issues.
•Applies actuarial techniques and expands knowledge of underwriting, funding, accounting administrative and compliance issues.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (SG8)
•Math, actuarial science or economics degree or equivalent
•Passed 1 SOA examfrom among P, FM, MLC, MFE and C - or, if it should become relevant, their equivalent.
•1-3 years experience
•Overall Assessment Rating of 3.5/Strong or above
•Demonstrates proven ability to perform assigned duties of job
•Ability to grasp more difficult concepts
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Basic awareness of group benefits and related insurance, accounting, tax, administrative and compliance issues.
•Strong math and computer skills
•Excellent organizational/time management skills
•Ability to work on a team
MS Office software proficiency
