Senior Actuarial Jobs

A senior actuarial professional is responsible for analysis of statistical data like mortality, disability and retirement rates; developing indications and rate proposals; planning catastrophe exposure management; participation in industry actuarial committees; keeping updated on life insurance scenarios; preparing reports on the findings conducted for actuary business ventures; guiding junior actuaries and training them; coordinating with other departments in developing profitability studies and making projections; keeping updated on government and organizational regulations and their effects on actuarial products and services; advising the management on new insurance ventures; and modeling and reporting new financial measures and assumptions for insurance products. A senior actuarial professional typically reports to an actuarial director.
A senior actuarial professional has a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, insurance, or a branch of statistics. Several years of experience as an actuarial professional is a must. Familiarity with life insurance modeling, GAAP reporting, and cash flow testing is essential. Strong mathematical ability and analytical skills are required.
