Property Actuary Jobs
A property actuary is responsible for providing transaction pricing analysis and recommendations on new and existing reinsurance programs to underwriters and clients. Duties include participating in client audits and client quote presentations; evaluating client rating plans and pricing models; completing projects on rating parameters, pricing models, and portfolio analysis & management; calculating the risk return patterns based on available parameters; suggesting management on risk mitigation; coordinating the efforts of junior property actuaries; preparing financial reports on the attractiveness of the actuary market and catching on the unoccupied market; and participating in meetings on financial modeling to support actuarial activities. A property actuary typically reports to an actuarial director.
A property actuary has a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, insurance, or a relevant field in statistics. Excellent academic credentials are required. Prior experience as property actuary is beneficial. Ability to make use of Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
