Life Actuary Jobs

A life actuary is typically responsible for conducting complex risk analyses using mathematical modeling techniques; determining probability and assessing potential risk; providing estimates on product solutions that require making too much of calculations; preparing reports and advising management with regard to potential risk matters; recommending courses of action and following up on recommendations; advising on administration of life insurance scenarios to mitigate risk and ensuring regulatory compliance; working with stakeholders to enhance understanding of life actuarial concepts; interacting with clients so as to gather information about potential risks; calculating premium rates and funding rates for life insurance scenarios; and providing advice and counsel to others in the organization.
A life actuary should have a BA or BS degree in actuary science or insurance. Excellent academic credentials are required. Prior experience as a life actuary may be advantageous. Strong mathematical skills are essential for a life actuary role.
