Insurance Actuary Jobs

An insurance actuary is typically responsible for designing new healthcare insurance plans or preparing financial models that support the insurance data. Other typical duties of an insurance actuary position are studying in detail the new trends in the insurance/actuary industry; doing critical statistical research on insurance actuarial data; coordinating with IT personnel and participating in preparing insurance actuarial information systems; providing estimates on insurance actuarial product solutions; recommending strategic processes for managing insurance actuary business ventures; and advising on risk mitigation for insurance actuary products and services.
An insurance actuary should have a bachelor of science degree in statistics, actuarial science, or a relevant field. Prior experience as an insurance actuary is desirable. Excellent mathematical ability and analytical skills are required.
An insurance actuary position may also be referred to as a reinsurance actuary, life insurance actuary, pricing actuary, or health benefits actuary.
