Healthcare Actuary Jobs

A healthcare actuary is primarily responsible for designing new healthcare insurance or benefits plans or preparing financial models that support the actuarial data. Other specific duties for a healthcare actuary position include studying in detail new trends in the health actuarial industry; doing critical statistical research on health actuarial data; coordinating with IT personnel and participating in preparing healthcare actuarial information systems; providing estimates on healthcare actuarial product solutions; recommending strategic processes for managing healthcare actuary business ventures; and advising on risk mitigation for healthcare actuary products and services.
A healthcare actuarial professional should have a BA/ BS degree in actuary science or insurance. Excellent academic credentials are essential. Prior experience as a healthcare actuary may be advantageous. Strong expertise in the field of statistics or mathematics is a key trait for a healthcare actuary role.
