Health Actuary Jobs
A health actuary is responsible for designing new health insurance or benefit plans and analyzing old health insurance or benefits plans. A health actuary typically performs the following duties: critical statistical research on health actuarial data; performing in-depth analysis on new trends in the actuarial industry; helping the organization understand impact of typical health actuarial plan variables; providing estimates on product solutions that require making too much of calculations; recommending courses of action and following up on recommendations in the health actuary business ventures; advising on risk mitigation for health actuary plans; working with stakeholders to enhance understanding of health actuarial concepts; providing assistance to other ventures in the area of actuarial science.
A health actuary should have a bachelor's degree in actuary science or insurance. Excellent academic credentials are required. Prior experience as a health actuary may be advantageous. Strong mathematical skills are essential for a health actuary role.
