Financial Actuary Jobs

A financial actuary is responsible for analyzing statistical data like mortality, disability and retirement rates; coordinating with finance department in developing profitability studies and planning projections; advising management on new financial business ventures; participating in annuity calculations; providing technical support for existing actuarial models; providing general quantitative consultation to the organization; analyzing trends in the financial market and preparing reports in this regard; meeting with business clients and guiding them on their new financial ventures.
A financial actuary should have a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, statistics, or a branch of mathematics. Familiarity with GAAP reporting and knowledge of financial modeling techniques are required. Prior experience in this field may be advantageous.
