Casualty Actuary Jobs

A casualty actuary is responsible for performing analysis to maintain proper price level, price structure, data availability, reserves, and other requirements to achieve market and financial goals. Specific duties for a casualty actuary position may include performing analysis in order to support pricing, product development, and financial management; analyzing industry and location specific trends and regulatory/ legislative activities to identify what impact they have on financials, reserves, and pricing processes of a firm; assessing financial and competitive positions of a firm in order to determine on the financial variables of firm's interests; preparing actuarial aspects of information required by the management; and participating in trainings and seminars.
A casualty actuary should have a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, insurance, or an equivalent qualification in a branch of statistics. Excellent academic credentials are important for a casualty actuary role. Prior experience as a casualty actuary may help.
