Associate Actuary Jobs
An associate actuary position in the area of actuarial science is responsible for performing both actuarial as well as certain amount of administrative duties. An associate actuary is typically responsible for conducting reviews of personal auto and property rates for assigned states; analyzing profit and loss results for the company; projecting underwriting losses; reviewing rates; preparing rate package proposals; handling internal and external communications; liaising with regulatory authorities and management; handling maintenance and service of financial models; training new actuarial assistants on the area; providing support to actuarial managers; and keeping updated on new developments in the area. Generally, an associate actuary reports to an actuary manager.
An associate actuary position requires a BA or BS degree in actuarial science or insurance. Excellent academic credentials are required. Prior experience in this field is an asset. Strong analytical skills are required for such roles.
