Actuarial Manager Jobs

An actuarial manager is responsible for handling a team of actuarial personnel and performing various tasks assigned. Specific duties of an actuarial manager may include providing training to new actuarial associates; mentoring and guiding other staff on actuarial issues; communicating with middle management on strategic matters; participating in pricing, deciding rates, submitting proposals in this area; handling communications with external bodies like government regulators, customers, investors; attending or conducting meetings in this regard; coordinating of profitability reserves, reserve studies, review pricing/reserve models; understanding different programs for which the company is underwriting; participating in designing new ventures by the company; and maintaining strong knowledge in this area. An actuarial manager typically reports to an actuarial director.
An actuarial manager should have a BA or BS degree in actuarial science. Several years of quality experience in this area is essential. Strong analytical skills and mathematical ability are essential.
