Actuarial Associate Jobs

An actuarial associate is responsible for conducting and analyzing experience studies; validating pricing assumptions; monitoring the consistency of company practices with pricing assumptions; studying and reporting actuarial trends and rating considerations; using established objectives and procedures to gather and process actuarial data; quantifying the actuarial data as directed; utilizing available computer systems and sources in doing so; keeping and updating actuarial databases and files; keeping updated on compliance with insurance regulations and laws; reviewing and testing data for reasonableness and accuracy; and evaluating actuarial data for the entire industry. An actuarial associate typically reports to an actuarial manager.
An actuarial associate should have a bachelor's degree in insurance or actuarial science. Prior experience in this field may be advantageous. Strong background in the area of actuarial science gained through a training or research project may prove beneficial for an entry-level actuarial associate position.
