Actuarial Assistant Jobs

An actuarial assistant is responsible for conducting reviews of personal auto and property rates for assigned states; analyzing profit and loss results, past and current trends; projecting underwriting losses; reviewing of rates; preparing rate package proposals and related exhibits; preparing internal and external communications; communicating with regulatory authorities and management; preparing information for implementation after approval of the rate package; assisting in maintenance and service of financial models; training new actuarial assistants; providing support/ help to actuarial associates or actuarial managers; and keeping updated on new developments in the area. An actuarial assistant typically reports to an actuarial manager or actuarial director.
An actuarial assistant should have a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, insurance, or a relevant financial field. Prior experience in this field may be advantageous. Excellent analytical skills and mathematical ability are essential. Familiarity with MS Word and Excel may be required.
